Mother Nature's Lessons

After a long weekend spent tending to my yard and garden, I couldn't help but be awakened by some of Mother Nature's messages to the world.

Maybe you've noticed some of these lessons yourself.
  • Some plants and flowers grow no matter the conditions.  Lesson: Perseverance prevails.
  • If left untended, the weeds take over the so-called "good" plants just like disease takes over a healthy body.  Lesson: Self-care and pruning is a must.
  • Some plants need to be planted yearly and some blossom without thought, year after year.  Lesson: Birth, death, and eternity are part of life.

  • Groundhogs know you're watching even from inside your home.  Lesson: Self-awareness is underrated.
  • Even though they're tiny, ants can dig through the hardest surfaces.  Lesson: Everyone is significant and mighty.
  • Birds protect their nests like mothers protect their babies.  Lesson: Unconditional love is universal.

  • You can get carried away watching living creatures do their thing.  Lesson: There is more to life than yourself.
  • Dry soil appears dead, but just a little rainfall can enrich it.  Lesson: Drink more water. (Actually, that's a joke.  The lesson is to feed your soul.)
  • Birds know you've planted new seeds and just stick around until you're done to get to them.  Lesson: Have a sense of humor.
  • You are drawn to some flowers for the joy they bring in that sweet moment.  Lesson: Life is beautiful.

What lessons does Mother Nature have for you?
